Dr. Aurora Dawn Benton is Founder and Chief Change Agent of Astrapto LLC, which exists to advance positive impact in the workplace. Her mission is to make sustainability practical and approachable for people whose main job is not sustainability, but who have a passion to improve social and environmental performance in their operations and supply chains. Astrapto has helped more than 130 young professionals launch green teams in their place of work, trained more than 1000 professionals globally on sustainable procurement and supplier diversity, and delivered workshops on food waste prevention to thousands of hospitality and event professionals. Astrapto’s clients include World Wildlife Fund, Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, McCormick Place, Sodexo Live, Visit Atlantic City, Direct Travel, Hard Rock International, Accor (Fairmont Hotels), Hilton, BCD Meetings and Events, and Baltimore Convention Center. Aurora has been a thought leader in establishing hospitality and event industry standards and education programs for sustainability with industry associations such as Event Industry Council’s (EIC) Sustainable Events Standards and Sustainable Event Professional Certificate online course. Aurora has a Doctorate in Business Administration in Social Impact Management and was named a 2021 Top 30 Sustainability Champions by the International Hospitality Institute. In August 2024, she published her first book, Exponential Impact: Harnessing Human Potential to Drive Sustainability in Organizations.
Heidi Mallin, Special Projects Manager, plays a meaningful part of the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium staff with a strong history in suites & premium seating, facility signage & decor, sponsorship activations, bid documents & sustainability. She has spearheaded the facility's sustainability efforts for major events including Super Bowl XLVI, 2022 College Football Playoff Championship, 2024 NBA All Star Weekend, 2024 US Olympic Swim Trials and multiple NCAA Men's Final Fours. Heidi is a member of the Green Sports Alliance, Women in Sports & Events (WISE Indy) Events Committee and a Junior Achievement (J.A.) Mo McReynolds serves as the Interim Director in the Office of Sustainability for the City of Indianapolis. Mo has been with the City for 7 years and previously served in the Mayor’s office. The Office of Sustainability manages the city’s sustainability and resilience plan, Thrive Indianapolis. This ambitious plan includes 59 action items, strives to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and increase community resilience by prioritizing equity in policy, planning and project implementation.
