Who are you outside of work?
I enjoy playing board games, cat lover (we have 2 cats - Sawyer and Bishop), craft beer, coffee, cycling, or really anything outdoors.
Name a silver lining in your own work experience since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
I’ve worked on giving myself (and others) more grace the past few years. Everyone’s lives have changed so much, for different reasons, and it is more important than ever to take care of ourselves mentally, physically, etc.
What is your proudest professional accomplishment to date?
In 2020, I was the inaugural recipient of the Zenith Award from the Michigan Society of Government Meeting Professionals. The award was given to one supplier and one planner for their dedication and contributions to the chapter in a leadership role.
What are some of your favorite things about being an MPI member?
The education and networking opportunities are fantastic. I appreciate the variety of educational topics and events offered throughout the year.
When do you plan to go on your next vacation and where do you want to go?
My wife and I will be going to Nashville in a few weeks with a group of friends from Michigan. We are also planning our 10-year anniversary trip in June 2024 and looking to visit Europe.
What is something people don't know about you?
I bowled a 300 when I was 16. I had college scholarship offers for bowling out of high school, but decided to focus on academics.
