GMHC’s Grab and Go Food Distribution Program was created in March 2020 when the GMHC building and dining room were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, GMHC has been distributing groceries each Wednesday through the Grab ‘n’ Go program, which is available to anyone in need regardless of HIV status. The program is now serving close to 1000 meals each week.
The volunteer activity will consist of packing shelf stable pantry bags with basic supplies including locally sourced fresh produce, dairy, eggs, shelf stable foods, and hygiene kits. We will then distribute the bags from the lobby of the GMHC building to GMHC clients as well as the general public.
