September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is an annual tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.

Join Repair the World in marking the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy by serving in solidarity with our community at The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) in Bed Stuy. TCAH operates NYC’s largest emergency food pantry -- five days a week, New Yorkers in need visit the pantry to receive free food. The pantry is unique because it allows clients to have a choice in the food they are given, similar to shopping at a supermarket. Clients can choose from fresh fruits, vegetables and various food items according to their preference instead of receiving a pre-packaged pantry bag.Volunteers will be giving support in the backroom (sorting items to be brought into the pantry) or front of the pantry (serving clients).

Repair the World NYC launched in the fall of 2015 to tackle pressing local needs by mobilizing communities to volunteer. We enable people to transform their neighborhoods, city and lives through meaningful service experiences, rooted in Jewish values, history and heritage. Our team of eight full time fellows partners with fifteen organizations in Crown Heights and Bed Stuy to recruit and train the volunteers needed to address education and food justice needs in Central Brooklyn. Repair the World’s collaborative community storefront space at 808 Nostrand Ave is a hub for service and social justice initiatives
