Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well. -- Voltaire

Welcome to November, National Gratitude Month. It is said that gratitude makes us nicer, more trusting, more social, and more appreciative. As a result, it helps us make more friends and deepen and improve our existing relationships. November is also a month that honors our military veterans and their families. It is important for us to recognize the unique sacrifices and challenges they have made throughout history that has afforded us the luxuries of being a free people. In support and celebration of gratitude’s amazing powers and our servicemen and women, please see below for steps YOU can take in observing Veteran’s Day.

  1. Show up by attending a Veteran's Day event in your area.
  2. Donate your time and/or money
  3. Fly a Flag – correctly https://www.military.com/flag-day/us-flag-code.html
  4. Ask someone about their service
  5. Write a personal thank you to a friend, family member, or neighbor
  6. Don’t confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day https://www.diffen.com/difference/Memorial_Day_vs_Veterans_Day
  7. Visit a VA hospital
  8. Hire a veteran
