January is an exciting month for our MPI D/FW Chapter each year as we get to award the Dallas Police Officer of the Month Award in conjunction with the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee. The DCPAC was founded in 1972 to recognize the excellence in police work, community & family involvement, and dedication to duty. Thanks to the Dallas CVB, MPI D/FW became a member of the DCPAC committee and it is our honor to award a worthy officer each January. Each officer is nominated by their superiors and the DCPAC Committee, including MPI D/FW member Greg Elam, have the difficult job of reviewing these nominations and selecting one officer to award each month and, out of those officers, one is selected for Officer of the Year. Please join us at the January meeting as we give back to these brave men and women who fight tirelessly every day to make Dallas a safer community.
