National Black History Month started as a method of remembrance with regard to the vital events and people in the history of the African diaspora. Black History Month is an annual time to honor the achievements and history of the Black community while acknowledging the progress toward equality that has yet to be made.
Black History Month 2022 focuses on Black Health and Wellness. While this is an opportunity to celebrate iconic doctors and physicians, the theme also acknowledges other wellness practitioners across the African diaspora, such as midwives and herbalists.
