Our chapter wouldn’t exist without the tireless actions of our volunteers. Whether you’re interested in a board position, serving on a committee for our Awards Gala or Global Meetings Industry Day or you just want to help out, it would be our pleasure to have you join us.
Meeting Planners International is the largest global meeting and event industry association. Our Chapter represents a broad network of skilled event professionals. Consider bringing your industry expertise to the table as a volunteer on one of our many committees. Let us know how you would like to participate!

Do you have an eye for excellence? Chaired by the VP of Administration, members of the Judging Committee are committed to soliciting and reviewing nominations to determine the finalist lists for several awards programs including: Rise Awards, Soar Award, Influencer Award and Atlantic Chapter Annual Awards. A commitment of 2 cycles is required with the option to renew for a third cycle.
The Chapter’s Annual Awards Gala is the highlight of the year with the entire membership coming together to celebrate the accomplishments of their colleagues. Chaired by the President, the Gala Committee works together to guide the planning of the event while managing the many suppliers required to make it all happen.
A celebration rooted in Atlantic Canada is now a global-wide celebration that showcases the real impact meetings, events and conferences have on our people, businesses and communities. Chaired by the President Elect, GMID committee members seek out new experiences to bring together the Chapter’s many members to share in the success of our industry, in April each year.
Are you a long-time member who can share your experience with the Chapter and the value of membership to industry colleagues? Chaired by the VP of Membership, this is the committee that spreads good news and hosts potential new members at education sessions and special events.
Representing a large geographical region means Chapter news is communicated via many channels. Are you a social media guru or media relations expert? Bring your expertise to the table to help us expand our reach to new members and keep current members informed.
