Dr. Samantha Meigs is an associate professor of History and Experience Design at the University of Indianapolis, as well as the Director of the school’s Experience Design Program. Dr. Meigs started the Experience Design Program in 2004 with funding from a major grant focused on emerging careers. Her experience in this field draws on her academic background in both historical research and analysis as well as many years of theatrical design and performance. From 2003-2007, Dr. Meigs worked as a historical interpreter and helped design programming at Connor Prairie Living History Museum. She has publications and has done many conference papers and workshops in both the fields of History and Experience Design. Dr. Meigs was also the recipient of a Fulbright Grant, an NEH Summer Grant, as well as numerous grants related to program development and student engagement. She serves as faculty advisor to the Imagination Emporium, the University of Indianapolis’ student-run Experience Design agency.
