On 10th October 2021 50 runners, mainly from the events industry, will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon (RPHM) https://royalparkshalf.com/ to raise money for the Events Industry Charity, Meeting Needs and they still have spaces in the team!
All they’re asking is for a £50 contribution from you to help pay for your place and a commitment to raise at least £250 (a one-off COVID offer reduced from £500!). You’ll get a vest or t-shirt to run in on the day and they have an active and supportive WhatsApp group.
The race starts and finishes on the south side of Hyde Park, nearest tube Hyde Park Corner, and you’ll need to be there by around 8am.
Meeting Needs was set up by industry professionals to raise money for good causes across all areas. Pre-COVID they were raising in excess of £100k pa, with RPHM being their second largest annual fundraiser. Since 2016 RPHM has raised just over £70k and they are looking to take that total to £100k in 2021.
If you join the team you can be sure that any money you raise will go directly to the causes as all requests for grants are closely checked and undergo due diligence. They also prefer to support charities with low overheads, such as those run by volunteers. If there’s a link to the events industry then even better!
