There are 3 issues addressing many sectors of the meetings industry.
The first is ‘inclusivity;’ how often have many of the voices in the room been ‘invisible. This may be due to confidence, status or even just a lack of engagement, but too often the results that appear are those driven by a few loud voices.
It’s the same with the issues of diversity; two years after the #metoo movement sexism and racism remain rife, with many groups feeling marginalised through indirect and institutionalised behaviours.
At the same time, organisers struggle to deliver audience engagement that is more than just a few polls or a Q&A session.
One potential solution is to include Axis as a tool within your programme, especially for breakout sessions where audience inspiration is needed. The web-based service is easy to use and allows facilitators to engage with physical or remote audiences and lead them through a variety of tasks to identify, refine, prioritise and deliver on challenges.
MPI, EMA and many other industry associations have trialled the Axis approach with outstanding results. If addressing the issue of ‘invisible voices’ is something you feel is essential, find out more at www.axis-workshops.com.
