Who are the most important people in your life?  Family,  Friends and Holly our red headed Labradoodle
 
Who do you work for and what is your role?  American Express Meetings & Events - my role is Global Strategic Account Manager.

What is the best thing about your job?  There are several things I love about my job.  I am a 'people person' - I love to network, connect and bring people together for a common vision to produce results. I also love being challenged to find innovative solutions for my clients that drive value. This has been a year of change for everyone with the pandemic turning our industry upside down. I love to learn so I have recently received my Digital Events Strategist Certification.

What are the 3 most important skills you use at work?  Listening - this is critical in our industry - we have to listen to understand - not listen to respond
Strategic Proactiveness - seeing the big picture and being proactive is an important skill in our industry.  COVID brought to light many ways we need to think beyond our normal world in the meetings industry and look at the big picture strategically.
Time Management - knowing how to manage your time in between so many calls/Zoom meetings is important.  I block time in my calendar each day to focus and set my 'to do' goals at the end of each day or first thing in the A.M. It is way too easy to get wrapped up in responding to emails and jumping from meeting to meeting.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone beginning their career in the Meeting Industry?  Understand the role of an event technologist and how to create engaging and immersive experiences for attendees regardless of if they are F2F or virtual.

What super-power would you love to have to help you do your job better? Seeing into the future........what will we look like in a year....two years...five years.  Technology will continue to rapidly evolve and change our industry.
