EVENT DESCRIPTION:


Join the North Florida chapter of MPI as we celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) on April 8, 2021 at the Daytona International Speedway. GMID brings together leaders from across the meetings and events industry to showcase the real impact that business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions have on people, business and communities. Events are Risky Business and professionals need to be prepared for any situation, from experiencing terror in the sky to being prepared for the unthinkable on the ground. Attendees will hear from industry professionals on how to plan for risk and crisis in large scale events and engage in hands-on unforgettable training experiences. No matter your role or the size of your program we promise a fun-filled, exciting event with immediate takeaways to implement at your meeting, venue, or with your clients.

Alan Kleinfeld


Alan

Alan Kleinfeld has over 25 years in meeting management combined with over 15 years in public safety, much of it done simultaneously. He’s a seasoned and highly-sought after speaker, writer and educator. His safety topics include site selection, safety overview, emergency operations, work place safety and crisis planning. His meeting planning expertise also includes sponsorships, budgets, business management, and a variety of other topics. His current focus is on planners who need assistance conducting site visits from a safety perspective as well as assisting in the development of emergency response plans. Designations: CMP, CMM, MTA, LEO 

Casey Jones

Casey Jones

Casey Jones understands that life can change in an instant.  On January 15, 2009, Casey was aboard US Airways Flight 1549 that crashed into the Hudson River.  He was in seat 7A and after evacuation to the left wing of the crippled aircraft; he spent the next 17 minutes awaiting his turn for rescue.  When he was finally ready to climb aboard that New York Waterways ferry, he was the last person on either wing.  The experience of surviving the most successful ditching in aviation history makes his story one of life, love and hope.

David H. Lau is a counterterrorism and security professional that currently delivers leadership and counterterrorism training to U.S. federal agencies and our military, as well as foreign law enforcement partners, as a Senior Instructor within the Leadership and International Training Division at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.  David delivers leadership training to foreign partners globally.  David Lau also provides presentations and consultation to private and non-profit organizations.
