MPI MN Volunteer of the Month

By: MPI Minnesota | Jan 6, 2021

The membership committee voted to start awarding a Volunteer of the Month each month now instead of 6 times a year. Below are our two recipients for October and November. We appreciate our Volunteers!

October 2020

Dianna Fuller, Senior Director, Global Accounts, HelmsBriscoe
Nominated By: Kathryn Laulainen-The Marquette Hotel

Dianne showed interest to be the Coffee Chat volunteer on the membership committee and after one call on 9/15 to discuss details, she agreed and jumped right in!

Dianna found a speaker, coordinated and ran the first call on October 2. Her ability to adapt, research her network to find a speaker (in such short notice) is extremely commendable! Her communication skills are effective and she ensured to review all aspects of the call, even if it was something she has never done before.

The first Coffee Chat (with a quick turnaround-thank you to all who helped!) was successful and have been receiving positive feedback from attendees.

Without Dianna, the success of the first call would not have come to fruition. I truly appreciate the focus and talent she brings to this position. I selfishly enjoy learning from her when creating the flow of the call to stories of her position as past president for the MN MPI chapter. With all that Dianna/our members are enduring right now; I couldn’t be prouder to be working with her and thankful for her time/effort to volunteer. Thank you SO much Dianna and looking forward to more fun coffee chats that are important and embraced by members and potential members!

November 2020

Jenny Ng, Event Planning Senior Manager, National Co+op Grocers Association
Nominated By: Barb Madigan – Minneapolis Marriott City Center

Jenny volunteered to be the chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force and within the first month took the lead in developing a DEI Statement for the website and has participated in larger discussions with other MPI Chapters to gather ideas and best practices to move forward.

She has worked with our Marketing and Communications team to bring exposure and attention to the work of the task force through newsletters and social media.  She is committed to leading our chapter in welcoming ALL people to MPI Minnesota.
