MPI MN Up-Close profiles Supplier Katie Skorupinska, Destination Sales Executive, Marriott International/JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America

Tell us about your business and your current job. 
I am part of the sales department at the hotel, liaison between the hotel and the off – property sales team. I assist with the site visits and work closely with the sales managers and hotel operations. 

What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?
I am newer to Minneapolis, MN market and I am hoping to get to know the members of the industry and get involved in different committees. 

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be? 
We are very detailed – oriented and we thrive to not only meet the expectations but exceed them on every level.   

What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network? – Get to know the members and get involved! 

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?  
We choose the attitude that we bring into our professional and personal life. We are not necessarily able to control all the situations in life, but we can choose how we are going to react to them. 

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?
I like to explore local restaurants and eateries. If not eating, I like bike riding with my husband or taking a walk with our golden retriever!
