Tell us about your business and your current job.
I’m the owner and founder of Studio Veil, an event services company focused on all things photo, video and audio. We provide everything from corporate headshots and event photography coverage to AV support, IMAG video, video production, audio/DJ services and even photo booth rentals.
What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?
I look forward to meeting and networking with other event professionals in the Twin Cities. I hope to add value to others through the services and experience Studio Veil brings to the table. I know my team and I will learn from others’ experiences as well.
If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?
Our clients consistently share with us how easy we are to work with and how much they appreciate our calming effect on events.
What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?
Being that I AM a new supplier, I don’t quite know what to share here except that you need to be willing to jump in with both feet. My first MPI meeting was a free focus group meeting that I attended to learn more before joining and then my 2nd meeting (1st as a member) I jumped in as the event photographer. Be willing to meet people, give back and be open.
What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?
It’s not really a piece of advice I’ve received but rather a phrase that I’ve really come to relate to and one that Studio Veil was built on even before I was aware of the phrase. “Stay Humble, Hustle Hard.” Staying humble to me means that we treat people well and never let our ego or attitude prevent us from providing amazing services and taking care of clients. Hustling hard shows up in our work and the way we pivot and problem solve when needed and it shows in the way we execute our clients desires for their events.
What are some of your favorite pastime activities?
My wife and I have 2 young children, a 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. I love playing with them and reading books to them. My wife, Allie, and I LOVE going to the state fair. I also enjoy woodworking, bowling, cycling, cheering for the MN Vikings and more recently have started down the road of real estate investing.
