Why did you join MPI?

I attended an MPI event in college and it opened my eyes much more about meeting planning and how it’s much more then picking table linens and fun menus. I knew being a member of MPI would gain me insight in how to better assist clients in planning events.

Tell us about your business and your current job.

I am the hotel manager, I have the role of managing and selling the Lora’s 40 guest rooms, and private dining cave for up to 40.

The Lora Hotel is in Downtown Stillwater just a 20-minute drive from the Twin Cities. Set on the banks of the St. Croix, Lora is ideally situated for exploring Minnesota’s rich landscapes or whiling away an afternoon by the river. What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?

I’ve always been interested in gaining knowledge on how the experts are planning events and making it look so easy.

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?

It’s a quaint modern hotel in a historical building dating back to the late 1800s.

What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?

Get involved. The quickest way to get an army of helpful planning experts is to meet them with volunteering in MPI.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?

Patience is a virtue. If you do not have patience do not choose hospitality

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?

I’m an avid golfer in the summertime and a snowboarder when the winters are mild. The other 90% of the time I am with my grandma/best friend.
