MPI MN Profiles Supplier Ashley Hawks

This month MPI MN profiles Ashley Hawks, Vice President of Sales, EideCom.

Tell us about your business and your current job

EideCom is a really unique company in the event space, specializing in the stage design, AV, live-stream, & the technical side of things. My title is VP of Sales, however I'm more of a client manager & relationship builder.  

What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?

I have fallen in love with the events industry, and I love the creativity behind creating experiences for audiences. I'm most excited about meeting event planners and learning about what new ideas and goals they have for next year's events!

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?

Our reputation is, and hopefully will continue to be: we get it RIGHT, every time. We are an elite team of event professionals who demand the best out of ourselves, promising perfect production every time.
 
What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?

Bring your most authentic self to the table. This is a community of supportive, professional people who love what they do, so feel comfortable jumping right in! Make the effort to get involved, attend events, and learn how you can be a resource to others. You will get the most out of a membership like this by giving.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?

This is my favorite question because this piece of advice has helped me so much (sometimes even daily!) over the years. "Be decisive. Right or wrong, make a decision. The road of life is paved with flat squirrels who couldn't make a decision." It's such silly advice,and paints a comical yet gruesome picture, but it is so true! Sometimes the absolute worst thing you can do is to be completely stunned by indecision. Taking action, and being confident in your decision, is crucial in success, even if you make mistakes along the way. Better to make mistakes and learn from them, than remain frozen by fear of the wrong decision. 

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?

Did anyone else dream of being a mermaid as a kid? I feel like I haven't grown out of that yet, I'm obsessed with the water. I love to swim, surf, boat, anything on or near the water. I recently completed my Open Water SCUBA Dive Certification!
