MPI MN Profiles Supplier Amy Lewis

MPI_21_AmyLewis175MPI MN profiles Supplier Amy Lewis, Director of Revenue and Marketing, Cragun’s Resort & Hotel on Gull Lake.

Tell us about your business and your current job.

I recently started in a new position here at Cragun’s Resort as director of revenue and marketing.  It is a newly created position for the resort, and I will be overseeing the marketing team, group sales and catering teams, as well as vacation and golf sales.  Cragun’s is a year-round resort located on beautiful Gull Lake in the Brainerd Lakes area and features a multitude of activities including top-notch golf, fishing, and water sports.  And there are multiple food and beverage options for guests to enjoy as well.

What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?

I’d like to create some new connections in the industry and take advantage of the educational opportunities as well.  Having worked for most of my career in the Twin Cities, now that I have relocated north, I’d like to maintain my professional relationships that I have developed there over the years while continuing to build new ones.

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?

That Cragun’s is the perfect place to strengthen relationships, both personally and professionally while creating memories for a lifetime.

What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?

Get involved!  Participate in the events that the chapter has to offer, serve on a board, or just network to build your database of professional relationships.  You will get as much out of your membership as you put into it.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?

We are in the hospitality and events industry—it is supposed to be fun!  You really can’t take yourself too seriously or you will forget that fact.  We spend so much time working, that you have to find the joy in it each day to keep yourself on track.

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?

One of the main reasons we moved north was to take advantage of all of the outdoor opportunities in the area.  Boating and fishing are my main summertime activities.  I also spend a good amount of time trying to keep up with my chocolate lab Molly, who has boundless energy!  My husband and I are also “foodies” so we have enjoyed exploring and finding some great restaurants in the area.
