As summer ends and we move into fall, uncertainty continues in most parts of our lives. For some of us it’s, will our kids go back to in-person school? Will I go back to work? Will we celebrate the Holidays in person with our family and friends? When will we meet in person again? As we reflect on the past months and try our best to plan for the future, the one thing we have to hold on to is hope. I know we WILL get through this.
I have resisted the term “new normal” but now I must embrace it to move forward. As an industry, we are resilient and are committed to making the adjustments to keep us moving forward. We have moved from live to virtual events, board meetings and happy hours to zoom, and social media has been an amazing platform to keeping us all connected.
Our September meeting was our first virtual monthly program. It was great to see everyone and be able to participate in breakouts. We hope to see this same enthusiasm in our October meeting that will be virtual too. In November we will have our Holiday Celebration, this will be our first live event. We have formed a Safety Protocol Committee to ensure we have best practices in place as we move to live events.
We value you, our members and truly care about you and your well-being. We want to make sure you get connected with each other and have the resources you need from our Chapter and Global, whether it is career help, membership financial assistance to online learning, please reach out if you need help with making these connections. We will meet again.
Warm Regards,
Barb Madigan
