MPI MN Members Win!

Meet Minneapolis, Convention & Visitors Association wins Destination Partner of the Year.

Jean Koeller, Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hilton Minneapolis wins Hotel Salesperson of the Year.

At HelmsBriscoe’s 30th Annual Business Conference at the Aria hotel in Las Vegas in May, HelmsBriscoe Associates and Partners gathered to recognize organizations and individuals who exemplify true partnership. Globally, 1400 associates send in nominations. 

This year, Sue Murray and Kay Russell accepted the Destination Partner of the Year award for Meet Minneapolis. Sue told me, “I’m incredibly honored and humbled. To be acknowledged by this group of people I work with day after day, means so much to me. This is a team award. Everyone at Meet Minneapolis made this happen. I was just one of the lucky people to be there to accept it.” Sue has been a member of MPI for close to 22 years. I’m always curious how someone gets started in the hospitality industry. Sue said, “I got hooked on the industry since my first job as a car-hop at A&W!”

Jean Koeller was still standing and clapping for Meet Minneapolis when she heard her name announced as the winner of Hotel Salesperson of the Year. “I about fell off my feet. This award means the world to me. I’m truly humbled and honored,” Jean told me with her voice beaming with pride. She recalled the first ABC she attended, “I remember the first time I saw that award being presented and thought it was such a cool award and what an honor. I was totally shocked to win it.” Jean has been an active member of MPI since she joined in 2011 and has been in the hospitality industry since 1992.
