MPI MN January 2023: Why I Volunteer

But, why should I volunteer?
“I recently looked up definitions of a “Volunteer”. One definition states: “a person who freely offers to
take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.” Another says: “a rewarding type of work that allows you
to use your skills to do something you care about.”

Did you notice the words, freely and rewarding? My personal experiences come from being a people pleaser. I have always enjoyed being around people and socializing. Through volunteering I have made lifelong friends, discovered skills I didn’t know I had, and truly received more than I could ever give. Some may say that they are more introverted and group volunteering is not their comfort level, that’s ok!

There are many MPI volunteer roles and opportunities that can be fulfilled from your office or home. Embrace your skills! You all have them! We would love for you to share them with the MPI Minnesota Chapter!”
