Kris Meyer, Senior Event Planner with Thrivent and MPI MN Chair of Student Recruitment on the Membership Team has spent the past three years sharing with students about the wonderful opportunities within the MPI MN community.

Our chapter is required by MPI International to conduct two college visits per year. Kris has plans in place to go above and beyond the two visits and present to three or four colleges this year. She has a background in higher education and a sense of nostalgia for students and campuses and is excellent at what she does. Kris begins her presentation by sharing her journey from student to corporate meeting planner.

She explains most of us did not take the path directly from the school room to the meeting room. The impact MPI can have by offering continued education, connecting with people and local businesses, access to internships and jobs is key to finding your future in the meetings and events industry. She is proud to share with the students that the MPI MN chapter is one of the largest and strongest!

And Kris does not stop once the presentation is done. Her role as ambassador to our student members helps them to navigate their way through all the offerings of our chapter.  A student membership is only $40. A minimal investment into a great future!
