Tell us about your business and your current job.
I work at the Campus Club at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities as the Events and Marketing Manager. The Campus Club is both a restaurant and event venue. I have worked with my company for almost seven years, but just recently took on this new position in March. I work with planners to assist them with booking their events. The majority of our events are University related, but we do host a variety of other private parties such as weddings and corporate events.

What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?
I am most excited about networking and getting to build connections with other professionals in our industry. I think that connecting with others is the best way to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.

If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?
I would honestly have to say the food. All of our catering is done in house, with everything sourced sustainably, and locally as often as possible. Our menu features tons of delicious healthy options with fresh ingredients.

What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?
Build as many connections as you can. I think that our current situation with COVID-19 has proven that it's important to have a support system. I have found it very heartwarming to see everyone in our industry band together to make it through these trying times.

What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?
“Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” It’s a Harriet Tubman quote that my favorite high school teacher wrote in my senior yearbook. Both personally and professionally, I have always looked back on that quote when feeling doubtful about myself. I think that it is a good reminder that it is possible to do anything you set your mind to.

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?
I love to read and bake. In the summer I enjoy rollerblading and spending time on the beautiful Minnesota lakes.
