Welcome to Fall in Minnesota! The season of the hooded sweatshirt, hot cider, and football is upon us. The corn mazes are cut, the apple orchards are in full bloom and the pumpkin patches are ready for the picking. 

Holiday Celebration 
November 17th, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

For Meeting Professionals International, Minnesota Chapter (MPIMN) fall means preparations are underway for our largest fundraising event of the year, the Holiday Celebration & Silent Auction! Each year, we come together with our colleagues in the meeting and event industry in this joyous celebration of the Holiday Season and the year that was. 

This year, we will be celebrating at Windows on Minnesota at the Marquette Hotel. At the very top of the IDS Center, this venue features stunning 360-degree views from the floor-to-ceiling windows! It is breathtaking to gaze out in all directions from the heart of downtown Minneapolis. 

We need your donations for the silent auction at the Holiday Celebration! Whether you are a supplier member showcasing your product/service to MPI members, are super connected and have access to sports tickets/memorabilia or other collectibles, or you have a special wine in your collection that you would like to offer up, we would love to feature your items to delight winners and help keep our chapter viable and financially stable into the future. If you can donate, please complete this online form. Items must be mailed or dropped off at the chapter office by October 29, 2022.

MPI MN Board of Directors Update

Your 2022-2023 MPI MN BOD has three robust and productive board meetings under our belts working on chapter oversight. And I want to hear from you, our members, on how we are doing for each of you as members within our organization! How are our meetings? How is our networking? How is the education content? Are we relevant? We truly care about our members and membership satisfaction with our meetings and events is a top chapter goal as we build back our chapter membership and programs after the large deficits we experienced when Covid devastated our industry. We aim to be your key resource for education and networking in the Minnesota meetings and events community. Please drop me a line and let me know your thoughts at president@mpimn.org.   

We’re also busy planning our Mid-Year Board Retreat where the Board of Directors meets for two days of brainstorming and team building to create the framework for the next two years of event strategy, content, marketing, and fundraising to best prepare the Chapter for the future of our industry. 

Nominations for the next Board of Directors (2023-2024) are now open! 

We are always looking for people who want to share their talents and grow leadership skills with the chapter, and there is no better way to do that than as a volunteer board member! I myself learned how to manage a P&L as an MPI MN board member, which helped me transition from a Sales Manager to a Director of Sales within a hotel. There are countless skills you can learn, grow and sustain while volunteering as an MPI board member. Elizabeth Sherry, Immediate Past President, will prepare the slate of qualified candidates for 2023-2024, which will be voted on by chapter members. Learn more about the process here.
