Letter from The President - Global Meetings Industry Day

Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) brings together leaders from across the meetings and events industry to showcase the real impact that business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, trade shows and exhibitions have on people, businesses and communities. Meeting professionals across the world participated in the international day of advocacy, with more than 120 events held across 6 continents in 2017. This year's tagline is "Real results, real impact, all around the world."¹

Last year, MPI joined together with the other meeting & event professional industry organizations for a joint GMID at the Minneapolis Convention Center. For GMID 2018 – these same organizations said “Hey, let’s do that again!”   

If you haven’t heard GMID 2018 is on April 12 at the InterContinental St. Paul Riverfront. The day will kick off with a luncheon keynote from Fran Zueli talking about having fun with creativity, partnerships and collaboration. After lunch, you will have a chance to network with your fellow meeting industry folks during the trade show time. And YET the education still continues – you will have the opportunity to partake in breakouts. To round out a perfect day, you can enjoy a glass of wine at the reception with your new friends.
