Just four days before the start of the event for One World Surgery, video projection, sound, lighting, and live streaming needed to move to a larger room to accommodate social distancing!
Shawn Petersen, Account Executive with Maple Lane Media, and his technical crew had everything scheduled to provide AV and technical support for an event in September at The Depot in the Great Northern Ballroom. With Covid starting to surge, the client started looking for solutions to allow social distancing for their attendees. The Depot was able to offer the Pavilion for space and Shawn told his team, “It’s time to pivot!”
“We needed larger screens, larger projectors, pipe and drape, lighting, more sound, and four more technicians,” Shawn told me. “Luckily, we had the gear in our warehouse because we had to redesign the show. Logistically, we had to use a larger truck, reschedule set up/strike times with The Depot, and change crew call times. All of our challenges were flawless to the client and the event was a success.”
With a little laugh, Shawn added, “It was an exciting, but stressful time. We pivoted. We did it.”
