Devie Hagen, Long Time MPI Member Retires

Devie Hagen joined MPI in 1987. She served on the MPI MN Board of Directors three times as Director of Community Outreach, Director of Government Advocacy, and Director of Mentorship. In this role, she was instrumental in the chapter winning the renowned RISE award.

Devie started in the hospitality industry in the 70’s as a meeting planner at Medtronic for 13 years.  She made a career change and went into hospitality sales.  She spent 22 years at national hotel/resort companies. Then in 2009 Devie started her own business, Elan Speakers Agency.  

In addition to MPI, she was involved in numerous associations: Associations North, NCBTA, IAAP, SHRM, WOLF Means Business, and Meet Minneapolis.

Devie’s active involvement in the hospitality industry has earned her many awards:

Our MPI MN community is losing a valuable and devoted member. Her generosity in sharing her time with all of us will be missed, but the wisdom she gave to many will be remembered for a lifetime.
