Annual CMP/CMM Recognition Breakfast

“We make our biggest impressions when we are not trying to be impressive.”  A simple sentence but a major message.  That message was at the heart of Joe Schmit’s presentation at this year’s breakfast.  The local award-winning sports anchor, author, community leader and speaker had the group laughing, competing, close to tears, and most of all, thinking!  Thinking about the unconscious positive (and negative) impact we have on others – our Silent Impact.  The session also included an on-the-spot assignment to text someone in our life who has had a positive, lasting impact on us and to thank them for that gift.  We each left with our own private thoughts on where we’ve helped someone, where we’ve fallen short, and what we want our legacy to be.  Or, as Joe would say, “Who’s on your Mount Rushmore of influence – and will you someday be on someone else’s?”
