Des Moines December Social: Art Terrarium

Des Moines’ December social is a come-and-go event from 9am to 11am; coffee and breakfast snacks will be provided.

During the social, we’ll enjoy a private event space perfect for small groups and fun plant activities. The store will also be open to browse gorgeous plants – you can even pot them to take home!
Terrarium building is Art Terrarium’s most popular activity for groups. You can either bring your own container and purchase plants from Art Terrarium or purchase the container and plants. For anyone interested in building a terrarium during the social, MPI Heartland will provide the container and you can fill it with plants as you’d like (filling a container with plants generally cost $15 - $25 per person depending on the size of container; small terrarium plants are $5.00 per plant). All plant purchases will be paid on your own.

Art Terrarium is a culmination of life + spirit + community and they believe that the space you inhabit has a direct effect on your energy.  They carry a selection of hearty house plants, succulents, and cacti. There is a range of handmade pottery to choose from or bring your own planter in to our Potting Bar. Their small event space is perfect for classes they host or private groups.

Please use the door on 11th Street (the east side of the building) to enter the shop – you’ll know you’re in the right space if you’re surrounded by plants!
