Who do you work for and what is your position in the company?

I am a partner at Cypress Planning Group. LLC. I have two amazing business partners - Kathan Dearman and Angele du Passage. We love the meetings industry and have over 70+ years of combined experience. We are a newly formed company altering a personalized approach to Site Selection and Meeting & Event Solutions.

How long have you been in the hospitality industry?

Since 1986 so that would be 31 years.

What is your favorite part; about your job?

My favorite part of my job is having strong relationships. When we become not only a resource for our clients but a trusted adviser and friend. I know we are doing something right. These strong relationships are important with our hotel suppliers and vendors as well. This industry is all about making connections with each other. I am fortunate to have over 30 years in this industry which allows me to understand hotel pressures and limitations as well as their goals. With these strong relationships. we can understand everyone's needs and overcome any obstacles that may arise. I consider many of our hotel partners not only friends but family.

How long have you been with MPI?

I was a member of MPI when I worked in Hotel Sales and recently rejoined this year. I love the educational and networking events and am looking forward to becoming more involved. MPI is a great resource here in the Gulf South.

What are your favorite things to do on the weekend?

Honestly, my favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends. My parents are on the Northshore so I typically spend
Sundays visiting with them. Interior Design is a hobby of mine. I could talk about fabric for hours! It‘s always fun to take a stroll 
with a friend down Magazine Street and see the latest and greatest.
