Understanding Neurodiversity
Date: Tuesday, October 17, 2023
Time: 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Location: Fairmont Palliser (Oval Room)
Is it possible that Sally from Accounting is not just being ‘controlling’? Or that Ralph from upstairs is not actually ‘difficult’?
Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome and Tourette’s Syndrome are all diagnoses that fall under the umbrella of neurodiversity. Unfortunately, because of the invisible nature of these differences, many of the characteristics inherent to a neurodivergent diagnosis may appear to be an attitude or behavioural problem.
This session will help you learn more about neurodiversity and give you some tools to work more effectively with people who think differently than you do. Neurodivergent workers with have an opportunity to gain an understanding of how neurotypicals may interpret behaviour and vice versa. A learning opportunity not to be missed!
With COVID-19 keeping us all at home, here are a few webinars and articles to help you stay up-to-date, take care of your mental health, and keep learning.
