Please join us for the Community Outreach Day of Service at the Covenant House. On Saturday, March 16 we will be serving lunch at the shelter in Northwest Atlanta that takes in juveniles who are victims of human trafficking. Note: Must be 21-years old or older to participate.
Schedule:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Prepare meal
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Serve meal
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Team building activity
At Covenant House, the victims are provided unconditional love and comprehensive support during their formative years so that the youth can and will realize their fullest potential. Residents are empowered to finish high school, start college, gain employment, live independently, and ultimately step out into the world knowing they are prepared to be successful.
How You Can Help
- SERVE: Pledge with the Community Outreach Committee to take a stand with MPI Georgia & PCMA Southeast to end human trafficking by serving lunch to these 60 youth residents. Last November MPI-Georgia volunteers were moved by the spirit of these homeless children. Email Maria Weiss with Jekyll Island Authority to sign up to volunteer.
- DONATE FOOD:If you would like to make a food or monetary donation for the meal, please contact Maria Weiss with Jekyll Island Authority.
- DONATE ESSENTIALS: The Covenant House is always in need of the following: blankets, pillows, hats, gloves, scarves, underwear, and socks. Please contact Laura Steele, CMP if you are interested in donating any of these items for more details. For our hotelier members, Covenant House will take used blankets/pillows that a hotel may be discarding as well as new products.
