This month’s Sponsor Spotlight is with Tass Sweeney with The Sweeney Zone. Tass has been an MPI Georgia member and sponsor since 2020. You’ve probably seen her at many of the MPI Georgia events. Her creative displays always contain delicious treats, her high energy personality is a “can’t miss”, and her laughter is contagious. What is The Sweeney Zone? The Sweeney Zone is a place for everyone that provides a unique way to shop, entertain, and enjoy great food and beverage in downtown Atlanta. It is the only "Shopportunity" that creates truly memorable programs and incentives. The Sweeney Zone has no boundaries! How did you develop the idea to offer groups this shopportunity? I live at Reynolds Lake Oconee and am a member of the Ladies Club. They were looking for an interesting "outing" for the members. I have known and worked with Bob Schuler of AmericasMart Atlanta for years and asked him if I could bring the group down to shop. As you know you cannot access shopping or buying at AmericasMart unless you're in the retail industry, but Bob was nice enough to approve our visit. The ladies had a wonderful time that day and the rest is history. That one visit led to an exclusive signed partnership agreement with AmericasMart Atlanta and the "Shopportunity" began! Now people coming to Atlanta attending a convention, meeting, tradeshow, or sporting event, can participate in the distinctive pricing and variety offered in the "Cash and Carry" areas of AmericasMart Atlanta. Simply register your group of 10 or more with the Sweeney Zone and Tass will work with you to plan an amazing day of shopping.

How long have you been in the hospitality industry and what attracted you to this industry? I began my meeting career with BellSouth in 1988 and have been blessed with all the opportunities along the way. I am a high-energy, creative people person and this industry fits my personality in every way.  

How did you get involved with MPI Georgia? MPI Georgia is the one true association that addresses the concerns of both planners and suppliers in Georgia. It provides a home base for anyone that needs information and answers on the multitude of issues that we all are challenged with daily. Can you imagine a world without MPI Georgia during COVID? It also provides an amazing network for planners and suppliers to meet and discuss issues and opportunities in a very positive way. 

What is your favorite part about being an MPI Georgia member? I can only say that my favorite thing is that it is a "complete package". You're a member, you go to the well-planned events, you network, and network, and network, and end up meeting the best people who can help you and your business grow! Where else can you get all that in one place?  

When you are not working, what do you like to do? We have just recently relocated permanently to Reynolds Lake Oconee. Golf is one of my favorite things to do but Reynolds provides a long list of activities (i.e., golf, tennis, boating, workout, book clubs, etc.). It's been a very good move!
I'm also going to begin writing my 2^nd children's book. My first is "The Funny Friends and Faces of Henry P. Gruber" which is being made into an audiobook for the National Association for the Blind.
