The annual MPI Georgia Fall Classic Bocce Ball Tournament, once again, surpassed the previous year’s registration numbers with an overwhelming 85 players registered!! The tournament provided a much-needed day of sunshine, laughter, fun competition amongst an amazing, unique environment for connecting with those we knew and offered an opportunity for all of us to meet new, as well as potential, members. This memorable day was made possible through the financial and in-kind support of our loyal sponsors.
Event Transportation Atlanta (Bocce Tournament Equipment and Co-Management) created the Bocce Ball Tournament 5 years ago to increase planner participation for those who do not play golf. We tried various ideas with minimal success. As an avid Bocce player during summer family vacations, it seemed like a good way to allow our planners to be a part of this overall event with an activity that didn’t require previous experience, but afforded them a fun-filled activity along with the craved networking opportunities. Over the years, Jeff has expanded the equipment from 2 courts to this year’s 6 courts and sets.
Simply Food Trucks (SFT) recently rebranded to showcase what they do - make booking food trucks simple! SFT (Paige Nathan) partners with more than 75 food trucks in the Atlanta area as well as in other cities in the Southeast. While popular trends are healthy and vegan, popular favorites continue to be tacos, burgers and, pizza, bowls, and arepas as showcased by the YOM truck on site. They are part of a concept called Good Mood Foods. Good Mood Foods have catered events from 50 - 10,000 and would love the opportunity to serve you.
AMP'D Entertainment (DJ and Sound System) created the perfect mood and sound for the tournament. Quite a few players mentioned that the music was perfect! The sound system was also an added benefit that allowed our Tournament Coordinator, Chis Yueh, to make announcements throughout the day to keep the games rolling and to share updates on the scores. Consider AMP’d Entertainment for your next meeting or event.
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort/ Hotel Effie Sandestin (Court Sponsor) has been a supporter of the tournament for several years now. Nancy Wilkerson always has goodies to give away, as well as a fire pit for making yummy s’mores. Sandestin has been busy with new builds the past couple of years. The website showcases Osprey Pointe, a new 77-unit luxury condominium, a total renovation of the Baytowne Conference Center and, their new 250-room hotel, Hotel Effie, featuring dining experiences by Chef Hugh Acheson, a James Beard award-winning Chef from Georgia.
Great Wolf Lodge Georgia (GWLG - Court Sponsor) The team looks forward to the Bocce Tournament every year. Did you know that GWLG has 457 all-suite guest rooms and 25,000 SF of flexible meeting space? They also have multiple onsite restaurants featuring a variety of cuisines with Dunkin’ coffee shop. In addition to the indoor water park, there is an indoor adventure park…perfect for teambuilding activities. Only a little more than an hour away, Alex and Christina are happy to help with an upcoming meeting or event.
Active Production and Design (Court Sponsor) is an annual sponsor of our Chapter and supports our education and strategic events throughout the year. Active and their amazing team keeps us informed and exposed to state-of-the-art technologies and techniques that keep our gatherings informative and engaging.
Barnsley Resort (Beverages) stepped up to provide the much welcomed and needed refreshments to keep our tireless Bocce players properly hydrated. With such a beautiful and warm day, Barnsley made sure every thirst was satisfied. Ginny Izydore and Barnsley graciously hosted the tournament last year (and did an amazing job!) and continue to support our tournament and Chapter.
Button It Up (Roving 360 Booth) created a fun and interactive activity to capture our players in very unique photos. Many of the players took advantage during their breaks to laugh and connect with one another. Call Joel to add some fun interactive games and creative photo party options at your next event.
Chris Yueh (Bocce Tournament Management) joined the tournament management team last year and has proven to be the perfect fit for creating the teams, scheduling the games, and being sure that every team has a couple of “byes” to grab a drink, bite to eat, network and visit our court sponsor tables. Thanks, Chris!
