Doug Bennett, CTA, CASE |
Doug is the Senior VP of Convention Development at Louisville Tourism. He started his career in the hospitality industry in high school which directed him to Purdue’s Hospitality Tourism Management Program then to the Hyatt after graduation. He has been with Louisville Tourism since 2015 and is excited about what 2021 has in store for the city. With GBAC Star Accredited facilities, new hotel and venue projects, and expansions underway in the Urban Bourbon Experience, we’re excited to welcome people back to Bourbon City! For the winter season, Doug would recommend his favorite cocktail – a riff on Louisville’s official cocktail – a smoked Old Fashioned with rye whiskey. “I enjoy the spice and nose that a crafted smoked Old Fashioned delivers. Perfect for this time a year.”
Although the travel and tourism industry has weathered a tough year, Louisville still earned its fair share of recognition, setting the stage for a strong recovery when the industry’s resurgence is expected to take off next year. Louisville amassed solid praise in 2020, with numerous media outlets adding the city to their top lists including accolades as one of “50 Best Cities in America” and one of “8 Emerging American Destinations for 2020."
