Shawn Boone, National Sales Manager at
Explore Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been an MPI member for five years. He began his hospitality career at the Omni Grove Park Inn Resort in Asheville working in various roles from Accounting, Sales & Marketing, and Hotel Operations. Over the past seven years, Shawn has pioneered new markets for Explore Asheville, specifically in the mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions, and promotes Asheville to meeting and event planners as a destination for conferences, conventions, and events.

Steven started his hospitality career at the newly renovated
Crowne Plaza Ravinia which is still on his radar as a member hotel with
Discover Dunwoody. He has served on the Board of Directors as VP of Finance and VP of Membership. He continues to serve on the Membership Committee as the Vice Chair of Networking Events. Steven is originally from Connecticut and is Atlanta’s biggest New England Patriots fan. He was at Mercedes-Benz Stadium last month to see Tom Brady win Super Bowl LIII and is proud that his 14-month-old daughter has already witness a championship.
In recent years, Dunwoody has been lucky enough to witness two full hotel renovations to our largest properties: the
Marriott Perimeter Center &
Crowne Plaza Ravinia. Both properties are open for business in early 2019 and our new Incentive Program for meeting planners will be a terrific partnership with our destination’s sales teams.
In mid-2020, Dunwoody will be home to a new 9-story, 177-room Hyatt Place Hotel directly connected to a new 16-story 5office tower called Twelve24. Trammell Crow is working with Concord Hospitality Enterprises on this project where hotel guests and Twelve24 residents will share the elevated outdoor terrace level between the two buildings. This new addition increases Dunwoody’s total hotel room count to 1,935.
