In the late summer of 2020, the leadership of MPI Georgia authorized the creation of a Diversity Task Force. The need for the Task Force and its mission is to bring awareness to diversity with an intentional focus on exposing opportunities while enhancing representation within the chapter which has been reaffirmed all too often since.
The Diversity Task Force encourages all members to become active participants in their work and welcomes the opportunity to engage one-on-one or in groups to discover ways to further enhance this mission and to continue making MPI Georgia a true mirror of our industry and community. Please meet the Task Force members and find out a bit more about why each have volunteered.

Co-Chair I am proudly part of the DTF to "be the change." I'm passionate about creating opportunities for more diversity within the chapter & industry as a whole. My hope is that we set a solid foundation for the chapter to successfully implement permanent DEI seats within the chapter. |
|
Abby Freeman My hope is for new voices to be heard and new perspectives to be pursued. My desire is for the association to be more purposeful in decision-making, partner selection and more in order to ensure that our membership and leadership are representative of our community and industry. |

Chris Yueh, CMP I am honored to serve on the MPI Georgia Diversity Task Force. I wanted to serve as an example for others and hope that my presence would encourage others to join MPI Georgia and add their voice to this chapter. |

I believe that Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are an integral part of any organization’s success. Any part that I can play in that success is a win for me. I’d like to see a more intentional approach by our chapter to address the needs of all its members. Our truly diverse backgrounds are a strength, and we need to leverage that strength to become one of the most productive and inclusive chapters of MPI. I believe we are headed in the right direction! |

Membership At the end of the day, I want people that look like me to know that we have an organization that supports our industry with a chapter here in our community, that is a great resource for event professionals. I also want them to feel comfortable attending event functions and know that we are a group that embraces diversity. |

Anne Chen, TMP
Goods & Services I want to help members have a better understanding about DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion.) Also, to educate members in cultural immersion by having a deeper understanding of other cultures and walks of life. |
||
Amber Dillard, CMP I am excited to be a part of the Diversity Task Force as we bring awareness to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst our peers, while also challenging them to embrace the beauty of the differences amongst various cultures. It will also provide the opportunity to make changes in many decision-making processes within MPI as we bring Diversity and Inclusion to the forefront. |
||
Tim Barrett, CMP I’m most excited about being part of the Diversity Task Force because of the potential for its reach. It’s important that we help expose our membership to the resources and knowledge that they can take to their clients and audiences so we can have a better world. |

Courtnay Davis, CMP Communications Courtnay.Davis@seeq.com I joined the MPI Georgia Diversity Task Force because now more than ever it is essential to foster inclusion and affirm the richness of our differences in the industry by actively encouraging participation and cultivating a climate of shared respect. There has been a lot of ground work put into this Task Force and this is just the beginning! |
