Please welcome Kisha Gresham, President and Founder of Gresham Solutions, Inc., to MPI Georgia. Through her work at Gresham Solutions, Kisha provides a variety of project-based services, including event planning, marketing, social media management, website maintenance, and other administrative services. Kisha considers herself an extra set of hands for companies who are unable to hire full-time staff for short-term projects. Prior to starting her own company, Kisha worked for the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) as the VP of Events. This position afforded her the enjoyment of traveling across the country, visiting new cities, touring hotels, and experiencing the local culture. Kisha learned about MPI Georgia several years ago while in the CMP Study Group. “I remember Connie (Bergeron) was such a great instructor and spoke highly of MPI Georgia.” Kisha is excited to learn all that the organization has to offer, become more involved locally, and expand her knowledge of event venues within the state.

Seeing that her current clients are in other parts of the country, she aspires to learn more about Georgia-based hotels in order to provide a variety of options for clients who desire to have meetings within the state. During Kisha’s work with AESP, she had the opportunity to visit many properties and learned valuable lessons on site selection. “It's important to not just rely on photos but visit the venue and conduct a site visit. When on the site visit, you have to take emotions out of the equation. It is hard to turn down a hotel when the sales representative is so nice and accommodating. However, at the end of the day, it is about the meeting space and if the hotel will be a good fit for your group and their expectations. Also, when conducting a site visit, look around and see if the staff at the hotel are happy and appear to enjoy working there. The hotel staff will be the ones serving your guests and they can make or break a meeting.”

As event professionals strive to execute the perfect event, Kisha would like to share this advice: “It is not the end of the world!  Meeting planning can be stressful, especially when you have a strong desire to please everyone. Know that things will happen, but it is how you handle the challenges that count. Do your best to make sure issues that arise are handled quickly with as little effect on the attendees as possible. Know that no meeting is perfect. All you can do is your BEST.” Kisha graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Economics. She met her husband in college and they have now been married for 21 years and have one daughter, Brittany who is a Senior at Chamblee High School and will be heading to college in the fall. Kisha is an only child and enjoys spending time with her parents. She is also fond of participating in various community service projects and exploring the outdoors.
