Casey Wilson, Hilton Cleveland Downtown, Senior Sales Manager
Joined MPI Georgia: August 2019
Meet Casey Wilson. MPI Georgia welcomed Casey as a member last August. Casey is responsible for the group sales of all US based and International Corporate Accounts from 51 guest rooms on peak and above for the Hilton Cleveland Downtown. Casey was a member of MPI Georgia when she worked for the Hilton Atlanta between 2012 and 2016. Since moving on from the Hilton Atlanta, she has been a remote sales manager for Hilton. In an effort to reconnect with her peers and clients and stay involved in the hospitality community, she decided to rejoin MPI and looks forward to an exciting partnership ahead!
When asked about her first job in the meeting industry and what made it stand-out, Casey said, "my first job in the meeting industry was as the Executive Assistant to the DOSM and ADOS at the Hilton Atlanta. I instantly feel in love with Hilton and the positive impact that each team member can have during a guest’s travels. I quickly rose up the ranks to Sales Manager and Senior Sales Manager and then moved on to my next adventure, Senior Sales Manager, selling remotely from Atlanta for the Hilton Baltimore. I then joined the team at the Hilton Cleveland in November 2018, working remotely again from Atlanta. Over the past several years, Hilton has afforded me the opportunity to continue working for a spectacular company, while also allowing me the opportunity to be close to family and friends. For that I am forever grateful!"
Casey’s best practices for success are to listen more, talk less. The coolest thing that Casey is working on right now is to grow as a sales professional while also exceeding professional and personal goals. The drive, passion and desire to spread the light and warmth of hospitality that radiates from every single team member at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown inspires her. Casey says that her rookie career mistake sounds so simple, but was hard to implement – not asking more open ended questions.
Casey went to the University of Alabama and started collecting elephants while she was there. Not only is the elephant UA’s mascot, but they are symbol of good luck, power, success and wisdom. They are also highly social animals with a strong family bond. She often wore a gold elephant necklace during site visits and sales calls as a good luck charm. Like elephants, Casey is bonded with her family. Casey lives with her husband, Wesley, stepdaughter, Sofia and their two adorable rescues, Charley and Linus. She is inspired by her mom. Casey adds, “Mom recently retired from 32 years of teaching. Never in my life have I encountered someone who so selflessly cared for and inspired others. Even after retirement, she continues to mentor her peers and students and continues to inspire me.”
If Casey could swap places with anyone for the day, it would be Ellen DeGeneres. Maybe one day Ellen can accompany Casey on her dream vacations to Argentina, Chile and Ireland!
